Here is a tale from the summer siege of Osaka during the Warring States period. Before becoming the lord of Matsumoto Castle, Yasunaga Toda fell into a ditch during a night battle. A samurai, Heizaemon Itabashi, witnessing this, immediately tried to rescue his lord but could not identify him in the dark ditch. Suddenly, a fireball appeared, illuminating the area and enabling Heizaemon to defeat the enemy and save his lord. Since then, the Itabashi family has enshrined the "Nightlight Inari" within their estate. When the Itabashi family left the area, it was relocated to the Momose family. This legend of the Nightlight Inari, credited with saving Yasunaga, passed down through generations in the Momose family. A similar story has also been passed down in the Man'nenya Miso Store, a long-established miso shop dating back to the Edo period in Higashi-machi.
