The artist was searching for inspiration near water when he stumbled upon this very place. Sitting in a local restaurant, the owner warmly invited him to create and display his work here.
This village is a place where the culture flows as freely as water. One unique aspect of this village is the “Mushizaki 100 People Bon Odori” event, which was transformed from a small village gathering into a beloved event that now attracts over 100 participants.
The village has also become a hub for art, particularly the unique creations of an artist who uses a one-of-a-kind method to create artwork. Using the sea as inspiration, the artist pours natural ink into the seawater and then uses washi paper to capture intricate patterns without the use of a brush.
You can view these extraordinary artworks at the Mushizaki Warehouse and the restaurant Merepare Kaiko.
*The artworks at the restaurant are available for viewing during the restaurant’s business hours.
