Welcome to the Tokyo Bay Shiomi Prince Hotel, a modern representation of a “Waterside Post Town.” Four post-towns emerged in the Edo Period and served as key points for travelers. This transportation network centered around Nihonbashi and facilitated travel across Japan. The four post towns of Edo were Shinagawa, Itabashi, Senju, and Shinjuku. In honor of this historical legacy, our hotel was established as a new post town connecting Tokyo and Maihama, home to the Disney Resort.

Throughout the building, you’ll find numerous art pieces inspired by the concept of "Waterside Post Towns." As a doorman, I’m here to guide you on a journey to explore the connection between “EDO x TOKYO” through these artworks.

Ah, it appears our next customer has arrived! Two men carry a large basket with a woman inside, much like a taxi. With her hair tied in traditional fashion, she sways gently in the basket, as if she’s traveled through time. This corridor may serve as a time tunnel, linking our modern lives to the essence of this hotel as a waterside post. What kind of story do you imagine when you see this artwork?
