After running around the town it is time return the bicycle. The lodging for tonight will be the share hotel Lyuro Tokyo Kiyosumi. This hotel was opened in April of 2017, and it was actually created from an old office building.
Despite the walking paths and many pedestrians nearby, there was surprisingly few places near the river for people of the town to gather.
However on the hotel grounds there is a riverside deck where many people come together to have craft beer from the Kiyosubashi brewery. Go up to the second floor to Pitmans restaurant and the staff will kindly guide you to a table which sits over the river. The view from the seat will be incredible, with the bridge and Sky Tree fitting within your picture frame.
The Kiyosu bridge connects Kiyosumi-Shirakawa and Nihonbashi-Nakasu.
After the Great Kanto earthquake the city of Tokyo was all but a pile of rubble. The city decided to build the Kiyosu bridge as a symbol of the city’s recovery. It is said to be modeled after a suspension bridge in the city of Cologne, Germany. At the time of completion this German structure was said to be one of the world's most beautiful bridges.
After they bring over the beer, try ordering the smoked cheese or the quail egg. As you look over the sun setting, you can see a mixture of foreign travelers and people of the neighborhood.
When the morning sun hits the buildings, you can feel the city waking up. The calm sunlight shines and the joggers and walkers come out to the riverside. The expression of the town changes at sundown, with the lights shining in the night. No matter how many times you visit, this places makes you want to see the expressions of the city and river together.
