Some opened their stores in Yokogawa thanks to the Cinema. The owner of thrift book store Hon to Jiyū, or “Books and Liberty” in English, Mr. Aoyama, is one of those.

In the early days, the lineup was composed of his favorite novels, books related to music, and movies he liked. As the shop grew and as he started buying back more diverse books from customers, he noticed that they were selling books related to what he put on the bookshelves.
