With the Peace Memorial Museum's reopening in 2019, the exhibits changed from describing how devastating the blast was to how the victims' lives changed over the years.

On display are some dialogues exchanged during treatment, words left in a journal, clothing that people wore, and pictures showing the town in the decades after the attack, among other things. Tracing the survivors’ footsteps makes you realize how much of an impact the war and the nuclear attack left on their lives. Some exhibits might be too heavy to witness.

Still, we recommend you stand and face it. You can only think about peace once you share in someone else's lost memories.
