On your way to the main hall of Daishō-in from the plains of Itsukushima, you can see pipes neatly lined up under the stair railings. These are known as Daihan Nakyō-zutsu, or the Great Perfection of Wisdom Sutra Pipes. Like turning an Indian prayer wheel, the movement of touching the pipes with a Sutra carved on them counts as one chanting of the Sutra. The “Body” part of Three Mysteries can be experienced here.
