As you look out from the Kumano Kodo Center, you can see a low pass between two mountains in the direction of Magose-toge Pass. One spelling of the name Magose-toge Pass means “a path that runs between mountains,” a fitting name.
The Kumano Kodo Center is a wooden building that was built using about 6,500 hinoki cypress trees from the local Owase area. The center exhibits the history, culture, nature, and local beliefs of the Kumano area. You can also learn about the Kumano Kodo and get information about traveling there. Curators there can answer any questions you may have.
There is also a path that goes from the center to the Murashima Fudo-taki Falls. You can find a moment of peace as you walk along the promenade leading to the falls and watch the fish swim through the pristine stream that runs along the path.
