Although the truth of it is obscure, it’s said that someone claiming to be a descendant of the Qin Dynasty of China brought civil engineering technology to Japan. The movie-set-like village of Uzumasa is located close to Arashiyama, and its name has roots in the Qin Dynasty. Interestingly, the world-famous Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto is also said to originate from the Qin.
