There are some things we don’t realize unless we are commended for them.
In the age of information, words, things, and even people have become more and more expendable. And no matter the field, young people are put at a disadvantage due to a lack of jobs or careers.
The solution to this problem is an award aimed at young people.
For over 20 years, USF has continued to award talented young designers in Sweden.
Past recipients have gone on to direct the music videos of famous artists, or make their costumes. There is a hope that these recipients will become the heroes of the future.
The Project Manager of USF had commented about the products displayed here in this exhibit:
“Sweden’s designs are colorful, serene, and stylistic, but they are also functional. I think you will come to understand that all of the recipients’ pieces are rooted in the different cultures of Sweden. But at the same time, there is also some influence from Japanese design. I think many people will be able to find similarities between these designs and those of Japan.”
The unbound ideas of these young artists are able to cross cultural boundaries and stimulate their audience. USF’s award continues to support these artists who will go on to change our world.
