There is another wall that exists, but its origin is different from that of Akakabe.
Though we want to call it “Shirakabe” or white wall, there is actually no name. What is the origin to this unique topography? According to our inquiries, the white portions of such geographic features are softer than the black. As a result, the white portions wear away from erosion induced by the ocean before the black portions do. That is how this landscape came about.
Why don’t you take some time to stroll through these otherworldly terrains?
If you look closely, it appears as if seaweed has fossilized in the structure. However, this isn’t seaweed at all but rather the black components of the terrain seeping in between the cracks of the white rock, thus resulting in this pattern.
Since Chiburi has more black terrain around the island, it is rare to see these kinds of white rock formations.
