This building is 450 years old, which means it has existed since the golden years of the town.

Usually, the oshi homes stood at the end of the narrow tatsumichi street, so what would lie on the main street were small shops called “maeyashiki”, which were often tea shops and restaurants run by family members of the priests.

Right now there’s a cafe here, continuing the building’s role as a “maeyashiki.”
