This oshi home was founded by the son of Jūrō-Uemon Tanabe, who also accompanied Miroku on his journey to Buddhahood. It is said that he helped Miroku by melting Mt. Fuji’s snows and having him drink it. Perhaps that experience is what made him decide to open an oshi home.
Take a look at this old picture. The people holding the banner and waving their hands are people who owned oshi homes. Are they waving hello, or goodbye? This picture is a precious look into daily life at the time.
