Since this house is directly on the road, some people doubt whether it was an oshi home at all. Currently, it’s an ordinary home.
Take a look at the old photo taken in 1914. The building, which was built during the Meiji Period, is an inn called “Osakabe Hotel”. A lot of foreign visitors stayed there, such as a fairly famous mountain climbing couple, who helped spur the popularity of the sport in Japan. Next to them is a Sherpa from Nepal who assisted people who climbed Mt. Fuji.
