Originally lit on November 8th, 1898, this lighthouse stands at the northwest tip of the Peninsula, and is a well-known destination for motorcyclists. It was selected by the Japan Coast Guard as one of Japan’s top 50 lighthouses, and is one of the exceedingly few lighthouses that can be climbed; of the over 3000 lighthouses throughout Japan, only sixteen such lighthouses exist. Additionally, it’s a famously romantic site, recognized as a “Lighthouse of Love” where people’s bonds with their special someone can deepen!
