Kokura Castle was built during the Warring States period and rebuilt right after World War II. The view from the front is alright, but do you see the nearby complex, “Riverwalk Kitakyushu”? You can see Kokura Castle in all its grandeur from the rooftop garden of the Riverwalk.
“When I get tired, I just come here and look at Kokura Castle.”

A local woman tells me this with a smile on her face.

Kokura Castle is the symbol of this town and is also the only castle in Fukuoka that has a tower. It continues to brighten people's hearts to this day.
