The Tokiwa Bridge is said to have connected five main roads during the Edo period and it's surprisingly still standing to this day despite being a “Wooden Bridge."

This bridge is also called Sugar Road, as it’s the symbol of the sugar culture which traveled the length of the Nagasaki Highway.

​​The road on Tokiwa Bridge towards Muromachi lets you see both the busy Nagasaki Highway and the quiet residential homes of Kyushu. Many people have crossed this bridge and many more people will continue to use it and make new memories.
