Normally, after taking photos of people’s belongings, I take photos of the owners as a souvenir. While taking this photo, Phearp’s husband exclaimed: “This is like a wedding photo because we did not have any photo taken on our wedding day under the Khmer Rouge”. After taking the photo, I again looked at a photo they had from their time at Yamato Centre in 1983 compared with the one I just took. The husband appeared to be wearing the same outfit.
