These ruby earrings are from Phearp’s mother-in-law’s heritage.

In 1985, her husband arranged for his mother to move to Japan. Her mother-in-law became ill and passed away in Japan in 1986. While she was ill, her mother-in-law gave her these ruby earrings for safekeeping.

Phearp has been wearing this pair of ruby earrings ever since.
