MR. SONG BIN
BORN IN 1964 IN KAMPONG CHHNANG, LIVES IN SOUTH AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND.

In 1992, Song Bin and his family were accepted for resettlement in New Zealand. Since his arrival, he has been working at a factory. In his spare time after work, he has been teaching classes in Khun Khmer. This martial art is a tradition and also a sport.

At first, he provided the classes only to his children and neighbours at home. It was initially very hard for him to raise awareness about Khun Khmer among people in New Zealand, as most had only heard of Muay Thai. Consequently, he has been working hard to raise the profile of Khun Khmer on the international stage.

In 2011 he created a Khun Khmer club, and the chief monk at Wat Khemarak Phirataram provided him with a space and allowed him to give classes at the pagoda.So far, about30 students have joined the club, some of whom have become professional practitioners and won championships.
