We would like to introduce ourselves a bit.

Walking East towards the Asakusa area, you can see the yellow lights of a building from far away underneath the spinning lights of Tokyo Skytree. As you move closer these lights come into focus, with the words and lettering take shape. A theatre and hotel stand out among the small shops with apartments resting peacefully above them. Though this building hasn’t always been a part of Asakusa, you can find bits and pieces of the town scattered inside.

Welcome to WIRED HOTEL.
From the hotel room amenities, to the first floor bar & cafe ZAKBARAN’s ingredients, everything is based around the concept of 1 MILE X 100 MILE. You may ask yourself what this means? This concept is based on creating relationships with people within a 1 mile radius of Asakusa and utilizing resources from the greater surrounding 100 mile area. We collaborate with local artists on original goods and souvenirs, create Asakusa tours that venture away from the foreign tourist-centric areas, and hold regular events that allow for guests and Asakusa locals to interact and create a new unique community.

In the first floor cafe and bar, locals and travelers alike sit and enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine. On the second floor, teenage idols, theatre groups, and actors from all over Japan showcase their talent in an intimate theatre space. In the floors above that, guests from all over the world enjoy rooms ranging from dormitory rooms to suite rooms with terrace gardens and Asakusa-made interiors.

While based in Shibuya, which is about as far from Asakusa as you can get, the company behind this hotel didn’t try to bring Shibuya to Asakusa. Instead, this hotel aims to bring its guests an authentic experience of not only the tourists areas of Asakusa, but also the areas that most tourists wouldn’t explore unless someone guides them. This ties to the core concept of the hotel and the entire stay experience. Like a friend giving you a personal guide to their hometown, WIRED HOTEL ASAKUSA aims to provide an authentic and well-rounded experience for guests.

Asakusa is not just Sensoji Temple and souvenir shops. Asakusa is its history, its culture, its people. It’s a part of Tokyo that is unique and completely original in and of itself. If in any small way this guide helps you to understand the area more, then we urge you: Go out, explore, and dive into Asakusa!
