The Mystery of Jomon Hidden in the Stone Circles of Akita

If you think about ancient stone circles, Stonehenge in England is reasonably what comes to mind. But did you know that there are stone circles in Japan as well? The largest stone circle in Japan is in Akita and is called “Ōyu Stone Circles”, which also has a neighboring site called “Isedōtai”-- both were built in the late Jomon Period. But why did they build stone circles back then?
