The Izumidani rice fields are a beautiful sight to see, designated as one of Japan’s top 100 terraced rice fields and consisting of numerous paddies on a steep mountain slope. Take advantage of this photo spot while you’re there, then move on to a cafe called Misogi no Sato for a chance to taste some of this high-quality rice for yourself. You might also like to buy some at the town hall, but note that the annual yield is limited so most of the rice is consumed locally.
