What superpower do you think this one has?

Actually, the giant salamander, or “Sansho fish,” has a superpower to regenerate its skin, limbs, eyes, organs, or even its brain if they are damaged. Depending on the region, it’s also called “Hanzaki,” but do you know why? It’s because it’s said that even if you cut their body in half, they will completely regenerate. These salamanders are living fossils. Their appearance hasn’t changed since the far distant past of 20 million years ago, and the reason for that may be due to their gift of regeneration.

By the way, the name “Sansho fish” comes from the Japanese spice that is sprinkled on broiled eel. It is said that when you touch the creature, it really has a nice aroma like sansho.
