What superpower do you think this one has?
The porcupinefish is actually a puffer fish, but it doesn’t have any poison. This is because it has quills across its body, so it doesn’t need poison. They’re an evolution from fish scales. When they sense danger, they suck in water and expand themselves and as a result, the quills stick out. They become heavier because of all the water they suck in, so it must hurt when they hit someone. Their predators must think so too because they give up trying to eat them after seeing them puff up.
By the way, the porcupinefish actually has about 350 quills.
