The factory behind this particular sign is located outside of the prefecture. Their craft is actually patented, so unauthorized personnel aren’t allowed into the factory. The technique of this factory is their lifeline, and if someone were to copy it, they wouldn’t be able to make enough money. Even just one picture would be enough for someone to figure this technique out, so in order to protect their secret, we have refrained from taking pictures.
The 4th floor sign was made to look like the Japanese art of Origami. It’s quite the complicated shape, but it was actually made using a single iron plate. When the designer brought this idea to the factory, at first they refused him, stating that it couldn’t be done. But then the designer made a mock up and managed to persuade them.
Take your time and imagine just how this piece is folded together.
Next, we will head to the 3rd floor sign. We will introduce a wavy, acrylic sign that is cut to look like the lines on a contour map.
