Nihonshu, or Sake, has gotten really popular with the younger generation lately, hasn’t it? The world of Sake is complex, ya know? If the distillery and the methods are different, the flavor is completely different, even though it’s all the same sake. But it’s pretty expensive to do a tasting of sake, right? First off, there aren’t many restaurants with a bunch of different brands of Sake. But, Nihonshu-jin is different. Whether you are new to sake or a connoisseur, if you like sake, you will want to come here every single day.
You will be blown away by their selection. Their lineup includes sake from all over Japan, from the latest brews to the rarest bottles. They have ties with 8 sake breweries in total, and they only have one bottle of each brand at a time. They change out the brands quite often, so you can always have a new experience.
If you have no idea where to start, you can order the Nihonshu Tasting set. The owner will pick 3 types of sake (90ml each) and two appetizers to go along with it. All of this for 1500 yen! Isn’t that crazy?
Of course, you can also choose the sake you want to try as well. For example if you wanted to try a few different kinds, 90ml is the perfect amount to understand each one’s unique characteristics. Each 90ml cup is a mere 300 yen, so it’s a great deal.
While the appetizers costs as little as 100 yen, they don’t taste like it. They are made to bring out the flavor of the sake, so they won’t fill you up. They match the flavors almost perfectly, without drawing away from the experience of the sake,. They have the best collection of appetizers. You won’t be able to stop ordering. What about the pickled sea slug for 250 yen? It’s perfect for cleaning your palate.
The warm and tidy interior of the shop makes it easy for a beginner at the standing bar style to walk right in. The customers range from their 20s to their 60s. A woman coming by herself is a pretty common sight as well. The best part of the standing bar is that, before you know it, you’ll be best friends with the person next to you.
