Nakayado Hachimangu is the home of Hachiman, the God of War. More specifically, there are two gods enshrined here: “Susanoo” and “Kushinadahime.” People pray here for the peace of the region and the end of epidemics. They also hold the Gion Festival here.

There used to be a small shrine on the Yahata Steel Works premise called “Ushimori Shrine” and workers used to visit it all the time. It then moved to Nakayado and brought the rich history of Yahata with it.
