This boutique is part of a small consortium of shops in Shimokita, each devoted to a different theme. Just as every woman has different facets to her style, this shop is just one side of a designer’s tastes.
“A laboratory full of greens”, Etienne Marcel Laboratoire feels like the place to get dressed for a garden party. Delicate bird-shaped lights and dried bouquets ornament the ceiling of this shabby chic boutique where you can find a colorful mix of designer vintage, imported and local artist-made accessories, shoes, and leather goods. When I visited, I spotted a pair of vintage Prada heels in mint condition, racks of polka dot sundresses, breton striped tops, and unusual earrings that looked like pearlescent pills.
Ask the shopkeeper for their cute hand-drawn area map showing the other boutiques. They have one location called Marcel, which carries clothes as well as “daily use handmade knick knacks”; their Montblanc shop is “a new and nostalgic atelier”; Unsecret Grotte keeps rare and avant-garde pieces; and Oasisblanc focuses on “healing in the city”.
