NIPPONIA HOTEL Ozu Castle Town
Hidden Secrets
Searching for Small Treasures in Ozu
As you take a stroll in Ozu, you’ll come across the winding and curving Hijikawa River, which fades off into the distance of the surrounding mountains and greenery. Locals say Ozu and the Hijikawa River are inextricably intertwined. Along the river is a magnificent castle and a charming Showa Era promenade. A little further down and you’ll slip into the Taisho, Meiji, and Edo Periods. The town itself is rather small and you could cover everything in about an hour on foot if you wanted to. But today, let’s take a leisurely walk while listening to a few stories about the town. You wouldn’t want to miss any “small treasures” by rushing through too quickly.
