All Travelers Become Storytellers.

What is your reason for traveling here to Chiburijima Island?

As the smallest island of the Oki Archipelago, access to Chiburijima is not particularly great. With a population of a mere 600, it is rumored that there are more cows and Tanuki (Japanese raccoon dogs) than there are actual people. However, thanks to this, nature in Chiburijima Island has remained virtually untouched. After all, to greet you here are Akakabe, a sea cliff of red rock, and Mount Akahage—both of which seem almost too massive for this tiny island. Still, there is more to this island than its scenery.

Our guide will have [Course 1], a 90-minute day trip course that focuses on introducing the more famous spots, and [Course 2] for those who have a bit more time. This latter course focuses on spots that delve even further into Chiburijima Island.

If you turn to the map on the next page, you can see these two courses for yourself. We hope that after seeing all the spots available for you to explore, you will consider spending one more night here and take your time getting to know the island of Chiburijima.
